Chi Nei Tsang (CNT ) It's use as a way to reveal Human Destiny.
By Andrew Fretwell

"The upper class of medicines governs the nourishment of destiny and corresponds to heaven…..."  Shen Nong Ben Cao

The authors of Chinese medicines oldest herbal text clearly understood that the highest aspect of healing was in helping the patient fulfill their destiny.

When a human being discovers why they have incarnated and what their destiny is, then that person becomes a conduit for the Tao their very way of acting in the world becomes an expression of the Tao.

At the Art & Essence School of CNT I teach this understating to all the trainee practitioners

The question arises how we can discover our innate destiny?

Every human being has one and no ones destiny is superior to another's.

What part of us knows our destiny?

Michael Winn fellow Taoist Inner Alchemy Teacher explains it like this

“Our inner heart is where our Original Spirit (what the Taoists called Yuan Shen) is stored. The Yuan Shen is the immortal aspect of us. Most people experience it as a silent witness that watches the dramas of our outer life unfold with a calm neutral acceptance of all that is.

Our Original Spirit (Yuan Shen) is a part of us that is totally integrated at the level of pure awareness; it potentially “knows it all”. In short, it holds our potential for enlightenment. The problem is that the expanded awareness of our enlightenment may be held in other dimensions of our greater (collective) self.

Our original spirit has to wait for a long time until conditions are right for its awareness to be downloaded to our personal body-mind. It needs a proper vessel to download into, that can absorb and stabilize that awareness in the physical plane. The Taoists call this vessel our “essence”, or jing. Everyone’s jing on earth is shaped differently.

It means we each have a unique destiny, and our unique soul is designed to gather and hold different kinds of awareness on earth. Humanity is a single entity; each human soul is one cell seeking to grow.

The main resistance to downloading Original Spirit into the essence of our body-mind is emotional. CNT works on dissolving that emotional resistance."

CNT speeds up this refining of the vessel our unique body mind.

The question arises why we don't hear the prompting's of this original spirit for our lives?

The small intestine has to be healthy to hear the prompting's of our inner heart. The heart and small intestine are paired in Chinese Medicine.

In the same way that physical nourishment is absorbed and then distributed by the small intestine to the rest of the body, the small intestine also has a deeper spiritual purpose as well. to communicate the wishes of the heart (called the Emperor or Ruler in Chinese medicine) to the (5 Jing Shen) the 5 vital organ intelligence's (Kidney, Liver Spleen Lung Heart) who then go about interfacing with the world and expressing through actions the deepest hearts intent.

There is also a reciprocal link back from the outer world to the inner through the small intestine. It's here where we “digest” external experiences and these are again, if the small intestine is healthy open and receptive, communicated back to the inner heart through the medium of the gut.

The small intestine meridian interestingly ends around the physical ears suggesting a listening aspect to the small intestinal function.

So this is why CNT is so powerful it ultimately gets people in touch with their life purpose. Helps people process and digest emotions that have not been integrated or validated. The unprocessed emotions are like the clouds that obstruct the radiance of the original spirit.  We need to be able to separate out our sense of original I from the emotions, thoughts and identification with ego self we lay over this I. This I we call essence or authentic original self

In other words, you experience everything within yourself, feel your feelings fully but you understand your authenticity who you are at deepest core.

Simply put when you massage and open your small intestine you help yourself discover your destiny and the innate wishes of your inner heart.
